Last night we celebrated the first day of the 2022 European SharePoint, Office 365 and Azure Conference here in Copenhagen at a special event quiz with our friends at ESPC and The Globe.
Your elder millennial Quizmasters know next to nothing about SharePoint, but ten teams showed off their expert knowledge about their favorite Microsoft platforms alongside their expert knowledge about football, science, dead English poets, and the Moon.
Our generous event organizers suggested that we offer a most average prize in addition to our usual first and last place prizes - a fantastic idea that might be stolen for our weekly shows!
Beruset triumphed in first place with their flawless music knowledge, Flying Hirsch ‘triumphed’ in last place with their unconquerable positivity, and Bgud neither impressed or disappointed us in the most average spot.
Happy ESPC22, SharePointers - and thanks for having us!
Here’s the board for the last night’s event:
1 . Beruset 61

Right Round ft. Ke$ha
Our new friends over at Round invited us out to do a special quiz show for their Friday bar last week and we were more than happy to help.
For every private quiz we do, we ask two questions in advance:
Robots have taken over the world and outlawed work. What do you do in the new robot future?
You are having a nightmare where you are taking a test. In the nightmare, what subject is that test on?
Most people mention ‘gardening’ and ‘hiking’ for Question 1, but a surprising number of Rounders(?) decided to take up arms against the robots to lead the resistance and help people who the robots would otherwise have forgotten. Their nightmare test in Question 2 was nearly uniformly about physics, so we refrained from asking them about centripetal motion. I for one support our robot and physics-free future.
That said, we subjected them to an international spelling bee, recitation of European children’s books, and tested their mechanical drafting skills with a drawn Top Five question. Team Mon and Pumbaa were dominant in first place (and may make an appearance at our weekly show by the lakes!), followed by the very topical Friyay in second place. They accepted their very real and very meaningful prizes (personal pride and free wine) with pride and collegiality.
Here’s the Round board for last week:
1 . Team Mon and Pumbaa 60
2 . Friyay 52
3 . Quiz Impact Ventures 43
4 . 7 Square 39

There Is No Planet B
We were super excited to work with Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke for our first climate justice themed quiz as part of this year’s Climate Justice Days program here in Copenhagen - and with a record 38 teams playing, so were you!
Through the evening you showed off your knowledge about sustainable rice farming, Japanese business casual wear, underwater environmental style icons, and exceptionally difficult Guitar Hero songs. The jury is still out on Soylent Green, though, and we’re not going to share the recipe.
Our generous co-hosts Lea and Josephine shared their climate justice knowledge with us and provided an absolute cornucopia of fantastic prizes that went to our best, not-best, and exactly precisely average teams. You’re all winners to us, though.

What the Helminth?
We went from knowing zero parasite scientists to knowing seventy parasite scientists at the ICOPA 2022 conference in Copenhagen - specifically at Sydney, Australia’s 2026 bid party. We had a great time at SUKAIBA in Bella Sky and we were only 40% intimidated asking questions to people who make a living being impossibly, unreasonably smart.
Teams performed admirably identifying facts and figures from a selection of scientific papers - including one on camel urine - and the contingent of Australian quizzers knew plenty about the back catalogs of INXS and Keith Urban.
In the end, though - three teams out of twenty were victorious and one team was just a really great sport:
1 . NTDs (in a tie!)
2 . From Lima to Sydney in every disco I get in my heart is pumping for love
3 . Cleopatras
